While I was staying in Ocala during vacation a few years back I read that Ocala is the thoroughbred horse capital of the world. Ocala, a relatively small town in central Florida produces 10% of all thoroughbred horses.

Well considering that fact, you have to realize Florida is one of the greatest places in the world to participate in horse racing. After all this is where the world's champions are born and bred. Ocala isn't a huge tourist attraction, a primarily rural area know mostly for it's massive national park and it's proximity to other places like Orlando.
